Layna Scafide was a very motivated student who certainly used all of her resources to reach her goals. She said she attended Columbiana County Career & Technical Center (CCCTC) in Lisbon, Ohio, for the medical assistant program to become a phlebotomist. Four years later, she decided to further her education and once again she chose to attend CCCTC.
In her second stint at the OTC, she enrolled in the nursing program.
“I chose CCCTC because of the great experience I had with the staff and faculty from the first program,” offered Scafide.
In addition, she said it was close to home, and she graduated with very little debt thanks to grants the school had.
“The faculty at CCCTC were very welcoming,” she said.
She is now employed as the clinical coordinator and assistant director of nursing at Valley Oaks Care Center in East Liverpool, Ohio.
